Despite it being half term, our choristers were working hard, taking part in a landmark recording at Truro Cathedral.
On Friday and Saturday, the choristers performed with a 64-strong BBC National Orchestra of Wales and world-class soloists to record a deeply moving ‘Secular Requiem’ by Cornish composer Russell Pascoe.
The recording, which was made by some of the UK’s leading classical recording producers and engineers, will be released on CD and streaming services in November.
Conductor Christopher Gray said “The choristers do extraordinary things on a regular basis, but this was right at the top. It was inspiring to see their unwavering focus and musicianship throughout the sessions, holding their own with all the top adult professionals involved. This recording will be amazing, and a tribute to their talent and ability to work together as a team!”
Well done to everyone involved. We can’t wait to hear the finished product soon.
