Current 5th Years and prospective pupils and their families gathered at Truro School on Tuesday evening for the annual Sixth Form Open Evening. We were delighted to welcome so many visitors, including some from as far afield as Thailand.
The evening is an opportunity for pupils to get a feel for what life will be like at Truro School Sixth. Whilst we know that our excellent examination results and university outcomes speak for themselves, entering Truro School Sixth is an exciting time and one full of opportunity.
Truro School Sixth offers the benefit of small class sizes, extended learning opportunities, academic extensions, weekly clinics and a personal mentor. It also provides focused support for University applications, both in the UK (including Oxbridge) and abroad, and dedicated support for medical pathways.
Our unique Sixth Form Diploma provides students with a guided framework of choice-driven opportunities within supra-curricular, personal growth and leadership and service, built around our core A-Level offering. It empowers students to achieve the best grades with a CV that impresses, but also creates a fun two years, full of life experiences.
Visitors last night were able to hear from the Head of Truro School, Mr Andy Johnson, Head of Sixth Form, Mr Ross Williamson and our Head Boy and Head Girl and Head of Careers, Mrs Nancy Kenward. Visitors were then given the chance to tour the school, chat with students and visit departments to talk to Heads of Departments and Subject Prefects. There were also some delicious canapes and drinks available in the Sixth Form Cafe.
We want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all of the amazing students, prefects and staff who made last night so enjoyable and informative.
For anyone unable to attend, or who is considering Truro School Sixth Form, we would welcome you to get in touch with our Admissions Team by emailing [email protected] to find out more about our brilliant Sixth Form offering here at Truro School and to arrange a visit.
