Busy Summer of Enterprise Activities

From residential lettings and film shoots to activity camps and cookery lessons, the school hosted a wide range of Enterprise activities and events that kept the site bustling throughout the break.

Among the highlights, the school welcomed residential guests from school groups as far afield as South Africa, plus other sporting clubs. The campus also served as a film location, hosting shoots for CBeebies and the German Rosamunde Pilcher series.

The Cornish Comic-Con event drew 1,500 attendees to the campus in July and in another major event, over 600 local business representatives attended the Cornwall Business Fair hosted by the Chamber of Commerce.

The school’s performance spaces were also in high demand, with six community-based dance and theatre groups, including a local primary school, utilising the facilities for days of shows and productions. The school also hosted two Burrell Events, featuring nationally acclaimed singers and an orchestra group.

The cookery school was equally active, offering five different classes on various cuisines. Additionally, the school grounds hosted activity camps for multi-sports, netball, art, drama, and bushcraft camps, with children also attending cricket and football camps organised by external hirers, Cornish Cricket and Saints Southwest.

As the summer drew to a close, the campus has been carefully restored, ensuring it’s ready to welcome our pupils back tomorrow. A huge thank you to all the teams involved in overseeing the Truro School Enterprise activities and we look forward to further exciting opportunities ahead.
