Poetry Success for Bea

Congratulations to Bea for achieving the runner-up prize in the Charles Causley Poetry Competition. Her poem, titled ‘Within the Greats,’ has been described by her teacher, Miss Selvey as being ‘so full of energy and wild thought’. The judges and the Charles Causley team thoroughly enjoyed the poem and awarded Bea the runner-up prize in the Children & Young Persons Award 2024 in the 16-18 years category. Bea was invited to the North Cornwall Book Festival on Friday, 27th, to receive her award and hear her poem presented in the main marquee.

She shared that her poem was inspired by the works of William Blake, who she has been studying in class. We are also pleased to announce that Bea’s poem has been published on the Charles Causley Trust website.
