Welcome from the Head, Andy Johnson

Thank you for your interest in Truro School. We are an independent School supporting and educating children from many different backgrounds from all over Cornwall. Our education is values-based and is focused on children being and becoming the best of themselves as individuals.

Our academic outcomes at GCSE and A Level are routinely some of, or actually, the strongest in Cornwall, and we offer a nationally award winning co-curricular programme of creative arts, music, drama, sport, and outdoor education. Class sizes are relatively small, and children have access to ongoing support and care, whilst being encouraged by our expert staff to be ambitious and to discover the knowledge, skills and interests that will help them in their futures.

Visit us on our Open Morning

We are pleased to invite you to our next Senior School Open Morning on Saturday, 5 October 2024,  9.30am until 12.30pm.

The event takes place at the Senior School and will be a fantastic chance for you to find out more about life at Truro School. There will be a talk from our Head, tours around the campus, and a chance to talk to pupils and teachers. In addition, there will be plenty of hands-on activities in each department to give you a flavour of the inspiring educational and co-curricular pursuits available to your child at Truro School.

Our Admissions Team will also be there to answer any questions relating to our admissions process.

The school fosters a warm and nurturing environment where dedicated teachers empower students to develop intellectually and explore their interests and talents. Truro School promotes a well-rounded education that encompasses academics, creativity, culture, spirituality, and sports. As pupils progress, they acquire essential social skills, confidence, and leadership qualities.

Most children join us from schools all over Cornwall in 1st Year (Year 7) as day pupils. We also offer boarding options including termly, flexi and weekly – perfect for those who live a little further away.
