F.M. Anthony (Tony) Collins TS 1942 - 1950

We are saddened to report the death of Tony Collins, who died peacefully at home on 2nd October 2020, a few days after his 89th birthday.

Tony was an airline pilot for 27 years before taking early retirement at the age of 52 to indulge his love of sailing with his wife Brenda.

He will be missed by his family and friends.

Reginald Cyril Woodward TS 1943 -1949

We are saddened to report the death of Reginald Woodward, who passed away at Treliske Hospital on Saturday 3rd April, aged 89.

During the 1980’s Cyril proudly held the post of Chairman of the Truro School Former Pupils’ Association.

Reginald leaves behind wife Joan, son Winston CO93 and daughter Catherine.

He will be missed by all his family and friends.

Reverend Canon Dr Michael Bourdeaux TS 1942 – 1952

The Reverend Canon Dr Michael Bourdeaux passed away peacefully in the early hours of Monday, March 29 in Sobell House Hospice with wife Lorna by his side and all his children having visited to say farewell.

An Anglican priest, he founded Keston College in 1969 and dedicated his life to God’s call to be a “voice for the voiceless” of those enduring religious persecution. For his work, Canon Bourdeaux received the Templeton Prize for Progress in Religion in 1984, joining such notables as Mother Teresa and Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn in accepting the award considered to be the Nobel Prize for religion. He completed his memoirs One Word of Truth in time for Keston’s 50th-anniversary commemoration and served on Keston’s Council of Management until his retirement in January 2020 although he remained as Keston President until his death.

Michael was a supportive and valued member of our Old Truronian community.

Patrick Jonathon Vickers TS 1960 - 1967

Patrick passed away peacefully at St Julia’s Hospice in Hayle after a short illness. He spent his career in the caring profession, both for the youth and the elderly before retiring in 2003. A devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by all that new him.

Leigh Webb TS 1949-1956

30/06/1938 -24/12/2020

Leigh, brother of Terry Webb CO67, was born in Winchester, where his father, Percy, owned a butcher’s shop.

Leigh attended Truro School alongside his great friend from Winchester, Martin Platts. Leigh represented the School in rugby, tennis, swimming and captained the tennis team. In his final year, he was made Deputy Head Boy. Leigh went on to study chemical engineering at Bristol University and later became a successful businessman.

Following a successful career Leigh and his wife Carol spent over 20 years travelling the world. For many years they spent winters in New Zealand and the South of France where they owned property.

Leigh will be missed by the Old Truronian community.
