We have had a wonderful first week of the summer term – the sun has been shining, the boys have been studying hard, and we’ve had some great weekend trips and activities. The boys arrived back to school on Monday in good spirits and they were all really pleased to see their friends again. They were pleased to hear that restrictions were eased during the Easter holiday which means that retail shops are open, the school gym is open, and cafes and restaurants with outdoor seating are also open.
On Saturday, the 3rd and 4th Year boys headed to the beach in the bright blue sunshine. There was an incredibly strong wind blowing directly onto the beach and the strong waves meant that swimming was impossible. The boys did still manage to enjoy an ice-cream!
The 5th Year boys played the board game ‘Risk’ on Saturday afternoon. They introduced their own rule, and allowed themselves to form secret alliances using their mobile phones. A long fought victory was earned by Cam H, who managed to conquer Amari, Sam, Henry and Roland.
On Saturday evening the Malvern boarders came up to the Trennick quad to enjoy a BBQ. It was great to see boarders from different houses enjoying each other’s company. They really enjoyed making some new friends, and we hope to do many more outdoor social activities this term. Cam M did a great job helping organise the BBQ and doing the food shopping for it.
On Sunday the boys headed up to the sports pitches to play bubble football for a few hours. They all had a lot of fun and there was much laughter as the boys tried to control themselves in their bubbles.
Overall it has been a great first week back. It has been inspiring to see the boarders enjoy each other’s company, the sunshine and the beach.
