The 5th Year Ethics Conference, hosted by the Truro School Religious Studies Department.
Our annual Ethics conference returned this year, focusing on ethical issues surrounding crime & punishment and peace & conflict – all topics on the GCSE Religious Studies curriculum this year. The pupils were lucky enough to be joined by several guest speakers, including Lyn Gooding- former Police Inspector, Ben Hughes OBE- Retired Brigadier, Prof Mohammad Abusara- Associate Professor in Control and Power Electronics at Exeter University, Major Dr Alex Cadogan- Salvation Army Chaplain, Drolkar- resident Buddhist teacher and Rev Hannah Baylor – Anglican minister.
A big thank you to our panel guests for taking part in the debates, sparking the students’ curiosity and answering questions ranging from views on the death penalty to the dangers of hypersonic weaponry.
