A huge congratulations to all of our published poets, who received their Young Writers certificates this week.
Pupils were challenged to write a poem about something they felt passionately about, using their voices to express themselves through poetry. This week pupils enjoyed reading their published poems in the printed anthology, Empowered.
The book is full of poets who have harnessed the power to express themselves, unleashing their innermost thoughts and fear, passions and problems, to embrace topics including feminism, poverty, climate change, peace, and a wide range of other complex views and mature emotions.
One 1st Year pupil commented, “To be an Empowered poet feels really special. It’s hard to believe that out of all the people who have entered, a few of us have been chosen – it’s amazing.”
Fantastic work, young writers!
