Pupils are able to join the school at any age from 4 to 11 years old and at any point in the academic year, subject to availability. We are currently operating with certain year groups nearing or at capacity but our Admissions team will be happy to provide you with up-to-the-minute information on availability and waiting lists. Please email prepadmissions@truroschool.com for more information.
Our annual open morning is a great opportunity to talk to our pupils and staff and learn more about our passion for delivering an education with balance, breadth and wellbeing. You will also be able to join in a range of fun activities, view our pupils’ work and explore the school’s excellent range of facilities. Please visit our Prep Open Morning page to find out more.
We are also pleased to welcome parents for a tour of the school at mutually convenient times throughout the year. These tours are a great way to witness the school in action and to soak up the atmosphere. For more information, please contact the Head of Prep Admissions, Simone Weston on 01872 243 120 or email prepadmissions@truroschool.com
The first step in the process for any admission is to complete and return the registration form using the link below, along with a registration fee of £120 (inc. VAT) which is non-refundable. More information can be found in our Admissions Policy which can be found on our Policies Page.
Admission is based on a Taster Day during which the class teacher will assess the child at an informal level.
Entry is based on assessments in English and Mathematics. These are designed to be done on-site and no specific preparation is required or recommended. Pupils are invited to spend the day at the school, usually undertaking the tests in the morning with the Assistant Head (Academic) before joining a class for the rest of the day. We will also request a reference from the child’s current school. A decision is usually made within 24 hours and communicated at the earliest opportunity to parents. Every effort is made in all sections of the school to ensure that when a pupil attends for a Taster Day he or she is put at ease and feels comfortable and relaxed throughout.
Our school motto, Esse Quam Videri (to be, rather than to seem to be), captures the essence of our identity and is defined by the 5 C's below. Underpinned by strong Christian principles, we are a caring and inclusive community which values, nurtures and develops each individual.
