The countdown to Easter has begun, and the Truro School community have been celebrating Shrove Tuesday and the start of Lent.
There was ‘pancake mania’ at Truro School Pre-Prep as Rev Helen led our youngest pupils through a thrilling celebration of Lent. With our Prep Puppet Team kicking off the activities with a brilliant version of ‘Not Just 9 to 5’, the children got stuck into a carousel of crafts and games that helped them to piece together the story and meaning of Lent.
Over at the Senior School, pupils attending Mr Rosenthal’s Cookery Club at Truro School Cookery made plain and blueberry pancakes from scratch. The group showed excellent teamwork skills, helping each other to produce perfect, fluffy pancakes.
On Sunday evening, our boarders gathered for a fun, flipping frenzy in honour of pancake day. Boarders chose from various toppings and practised their flipping skills, working out the best techniques (with some disasters along the way!)
At Truro Cathedral, our boy choristers joined Dean Simon for a pancake race through the Cathedral building before performing a special Choral Evensong that will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 later this year. You can watch the race by clicking the link below.
