A Rainforest Adventure at the Eden Project

During this glorious weekend of weather, our boarders took a trip to the Mediterranean and the Amazon Rainforest at the world-famous Eden Project near St Austell. Eden’s huge biomes house tropical and Mediterranean plants from around the world and explain to visitors the interdependence between humans, plants, and our planet.

As they ventured through the world’s largest indoor greenhouse, they encountered a rubber plantation, sugar cane, rice fields, bananas and other plant life from around the world. They then took the opportunity to relax in the lemon grove of the Mediterranean biome and enjoyed Cornish ice-creams.

Visiting the interactive displays about the science of plants our boarders loved the ’Infinity Blue Breathing Sculpture’ designed by Studio Swine, which pays homage to one of the world’s smallest and most important organisms: Cyanobacteria. This smoke ring-blowing sculpture serves as a reminder of the significance of these minute yet vital organisms in our ecosystem.
