As we reach the end of this term, I find myself reflecting on just how much we’ve packed into these past weeks. Time seems to slip away faster each year, and this one has certainly been no exception. It feels as though we were only just welcoming our new and returning boarders to Trennick, Malvern, and Pentreve, and yet here we are, at the close of another unforgettable term.
What a term it has been! Since September, we’ve truly made the most of every opportunity. Our boarding community has thrown itself into a wide array of activities – each one more exciting than the last. There’s been no shortage of adventure. We’ve competed in a bake off, surfed, crafted unique art projects, and explored places like the Eden Project. We’ve been busy carving pumpkins, roller skating, and horse riding. We’ve even been paintballing, performed in numerous concerts, shows and school events and enjoyed a spot of golf along the way.
In addition to all these activities, we’ve celebrated some truly special moments together. From birthdays (typically accompanied by cakes baked by the wonderful Mrs Irven!), to marking the Mid- Autumn Festival, we’ve come together as a community to celebrate life’s milestones. We’ve also cheered each other on in sports, arts, and academics. Congratulations to everyone who received awards, merits, and certificates this term!
Of course, it’s not all been about fun and celebration. In between the excitement, our boarders have found time to study, represent the school in competitions, and take part in challenging outdoor activities like Duke of Edinburgh and the Ten Tors hike. It’s been inspiring to see how our young people have managed to balance it all, staying committed to their academic and personal development while enjoying the many opportunities the term has presented.
This term has been a whirlwind, but it’s been an immensely rewarding one. As we look ahead to the holidays, it’s clear that the break is well and truly deserved. Everyone has given their all, and I couldn’t be prouder of all that we’ve achieved together.
On behalf of all the staff, I want to take a moment to wish you a wonderful winter break. For those celebrating Christmas, New Year, or other festivities, I hope you have a joyous time with your loved ones. Stay safe, enjoy the time off, and we look forward to welcoming you back in January 2025, ready for another fantastic term ahead.
