Junior Senior Boys’ Boarding Blog

The boarders have coped exceptionally well with the second lockdown. They have spent the last two weekends mainly on the school site but have still managed to enjoy many different activities. The swimming pool has been opened for the boarders on Sunday afternoons, and the boys have really enjoyed playing around with the floats and the balls in the pool. The astro-turf pitch has also seen much use especially on Saturdays with Mr Thomson who has led some rounders matches and Mr Hatfield who prefers football. The basketball fans have been using the outdoor hoop on Epworth Court which is next to Trennick.

The highlight activity was laser tag around the school grounds. Mr. Hatfield cleverly rented a box of fifteen laser tag guns, and he designed several different scenarios for the boys in and around the extensive school grounds which the boarders had totally to themselves. The new Headmaster was catching up with some work in his office, and was sorely tempted to join in.

We also had a great evening on Sunday when the catering team cooked an amazing Christmas Dinner. It was a real shame that we were not able to enjoy the usual speeches and dancing but the boarders still managed to enjoy some fantastic food.

Congratulations must go to Cam, Lorenzo and Gabriel who are the new Trennick general knowledge champions! They narrowly won the much enjoyed quiz last Saturday evening.
