Lifeguard/Sports Assistant (Zero Hours)

£12 per hour (£8.60ph for U18’s)
Start Date: September, 2024

We are looking for a friendly and motivated Lifeguard/Sports Assistant to provide daily support to the Duty Manager in the effective operation of the Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre and ensuring the safety of pool users by preventing and responding to emergencies. You’ll assist in making sure all facilities are safe and clean, and work as part of the lifeguard team in ensuring health and safety on the poolside, and provide first response to any rescue/first aid needs.

You’ll also support the preparation of sports equipment including setting up, issue and recovery of equipment as required for each activity as well as undertake administrative and reception duties relating to bookings and issuing tickets.

The role is zero hours, covering a range of shifts during the evenings and weekends depending on availability.

Geology Technician

18.75 hours per week / Permanent / Term Time Only
Salary: £8,582pa – £9,622pa.

Truro School is looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and passionate Geology Technician to join our Geology Department. The Geology Technician is the laboratory steward for the Geology rooms in the School. General responsibilities are to facilitate the smooth running of the department by providing support to teaching and to prepare, monitor and service equipment and resources where required.

Management Accountant (Maternity Leave)

Full-time / Fixed Term / All year round
Salary: Starting from £32,349pa

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to cover for our colleague on maternity leave and assist in the management of the finance function for Truro School, Truro School Enterprises Ltd, and Truro School Foundation Ltd. Reporting to the Finance Director, the role will include preparing the Management Accounts, monthly reports and balance sheet reconciliations, preparation and submission of VAT returns, assisting the initial assessment of Means Tested Bursaries for renewals, as well as daily treasury management.

HR Advisor

Permanent / Full Time / All Year Round
£32,300 pa – £38,300pa (dependent upon skills and experience)

We are seeking a motivated and positive individual to join our busy HR team to support the amazing staff team at Truro School.

Working across the Prep and Senior sites, you will support the HR Director in implementing all aspects of HR processes throughout the School. As well as supporting employees and line managers in employee relations work, this generalist HR role covers training and development, compliance and data reporting, and the development of wellbeing initiatives for our employees. You will also support the Recruitment Advisor in the recruitment, induction and onboarding of new members of staff.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an established HR professional to develop key skills and gain valuable experience in a holistic and caring education environment. To be successful, you will display exceptional attention to detail and will be adaptable, flexible, and with a can-do attitude. You will need to be pro-active and motivated, and be able to communicate efficiently with people at all levels in the organisation. Ideally you will be CIPD qualified to a minimum of level 5.

Receptionist Leisure Assistant

Salary: £12 per hour

We are looking for a friendly and motivated Receptionist who plays a critical role in providing a first-class experience to community members, prospective members and visitors to the Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre.

This role is the first point of contact for customer enquiries and will assist the Duty Manager by providing effective and efficient administrative support. It is also a requirement that this role provide lifeguard trained assistance to the poolside team when responding to emergencies.

This role will be working 13.5 hours a week and the shifts are:

Friday- 16.45pm – 21.45pm

Saturday- 8.45am – 18.15pm.

Truro School is looking for an enthusiastic and organised Kitchen Porter to join our Catering Department. The department is a busy environment, and this role includes the day-to-day cleanliness of the kitchen and washing kitchen equipment; eg, crockery, fryers, ovens, fridges, floors and store rooms.
