There were blue skies all round for the 4th year Geology trip. The Geologists took to the steep hills of Carn Brea for a day of fieldwork. The pupils had a fantastic time putting into practise the work they had covered during the first term on minerals, igneous rocks and weathering.
They were staggered by the sheer scale of the granite tors Carn Brea has on offer which makes it such a fantastic field location as the pupils were able to see a granite in situ, understand how tors form and how the granite has affected the surrounding area.
Back at school the pupils have been working hard in the classroom to summarise the geology they observed at Carn Brea and we hope to see the outcomes of this soon.
