A Dazzling Celebration of Sports

Dressed in their finest, our students, families, and Truro School staff gathered at the Alverton Hotel in Truro for the annual Truro School Senior Sports Dinner.

Director of Sport, Mr Dan Sanderson, started proceedings with a welcome address, explaining the significance of the event, which celebrates the sporting achievements of our sports men and women. It is a chance to recognise their contribution to our school both in sport and the wider school community. It is also an opportunity to thank those who support our pupils and students behind the scenes to enable them to succeed in the sporting arena.

With a sporty blessing from Rev Helen to begin a delicious three-course meal, the evening also included an interactive sports quiz and the all-important presentation of Sixth Form colours, Players of the Year, and the two prestigious awards of Outstanding Sporting Achievement and Truro School Sports Ambassador.

Well done to all of our students who received their colours and to:

  • Player of the Year (football), Finn
  • Player of the Year (rugby), Louis
  • Player of the Year (netball), Elowyn
  • Player of the Year (hockey), Katie
  • Player of the Year (athletics), Kenny
  • Player of the Year (cricket), Dan
  • Outstanding Sporting Achievement, Daisy
  • Truro School Sports Ambassadors, Ben and Elowyn.

A huge thank you to the Alverton for a wonderful venue and meal, the PE Department and our guests who made the evening such a special and memorable affair.
