Alongside our terrific Sports Day, there have been a raft of other sporting events taking place. In cricket, our U13 and U15 girls were in action against Penrice Academy, showcasing some super skills in the sunshine. The U13 girls’ went on to win their cup match against Helston meaning they are now in the semi-finals. Well done!
In squash, our KS3 team finished an impressive 5th in the National Schools Finals. They are pictured here with British Open winner Mostafa Asal, who helped with a coaching session at Truro School in March.
A group of pupils represented Truro School at the Cornwall Schools Athletics Championships with some excellent results. Huge congratulations to Matilda, Billy and Kenny, who were selected from this qualifier to represent Cornwall in the Southwest Schools Track and Field Championship in Exeter. Billy qualified for the Junior Boys 100m final whilst Kenny and Matilda recorded personal bests in the Senior Boys 1500m and Junior Girls 100m respectively. Billy and Matilda went on to make up one half of the 4x100m mixed relay team where they finished an amazing 3rd place.
In rounders, our 2nd Year team won their matches against Penair School and Penryn College – thanks to both schools for a lovely afternoon of some great rounders action!
In individual sports, we would like to say well done to the following pupils;
Well done to Dan, who finished 3rd in the Year 8 National School Biathle Championships. Congratulations to Jonny in the 2nd Year who won the overall title in the 14U group at the Bideford Atlantic Racquet Centre. Finally, well done to Aria who has been selected for the female junior squad of the Southwest Saxons Touch Rugby Team.
