Allied Health Ambitions for Percy and Kai-li

The Allied Health Professions field offers a wide range of exciting career opportunities. We’re proud to share the inspiring stories of Percy and Kai-li, who have each received an impressive set of offers as they take the next steps on their journeys.

Percy, an international boarder from Hong Kong, joined Truro School five years ago. She says she has always harboured a keen interest in the field of medicine and was particularly inspired by the positive impact of physiotherapy within her own family. Determined to explore this field, she managed to secure some valuable work experience at Royal Cornwall and Duchy hospitals, where she gained insight into the workings of a busy physio department. This experience solidified her ambition to pursue physiotherapy as a career. Percy has received offers from several top universities, including Birmingham and Leicester, to study physiotherapy and further her ambitions of working within the NHS.

Kai-li has long aspired to a career in healthcare, and her own experiences at the opticians sparked a particular interest in optometry. With a strong desire to help others and a passion for science and the human body, she is preparing to embark on a four-year course with the aim of working in a hospital or clinic. Kai-li has already gained hands-on experience at a private opticians and Specsavers, further developing her practical skills in the field. Additionally, she has benefited from the many career talks available at Truro School. Currently studying biology, chemistry, physics, and Leiths, Kai-li is well on her way to achieving her goals.

We extend our best wishes to these two these ambitious young ladies as they navigate their A-Levels and pursue their future careers. Good luck to Percy and Kai-li on their inspiring journeys ahead.
