Book Week off to a Swimming Start

Prep children (and parents) have been welcomed into school by Mr and Mrs Morse dressed as fishermen, surrounded by bubbles to launch our World Book Week celebrations! The surprise sight was fondly received by families this morning on the school drop off.

An exciting portfolio of events will be taking place all this week to celebrate literature, with the theme ‘Out of the Blue’. The schedule includes special visitors from the RNLI, National Coastwatch, British Marine Life Rescue, Beach Guardians, Pendennis Shipyard and more. Local authors will be popping in for workshops, there’s singing, poems, dress up, theatre, a pop up book store and a surprise visitor in the pool on Wednesday for our Pre-Prep pupils!

Alongside this, parents will be joining us for poems and reading, with a poetry final for pupils on Friday. All pupils will be taking part in our book swap, where they will be receiving a mystery book chosen by another pupil and we will be singing sea shanties throughout the week.

Thank you to the FTS for decorating the school in a sea theme ready for a week of learning, and to volunteer parents who are running reading sessions in the library all week…. what a week it is!
