Bronze DofE Certificates Awarded 2025

Congratulations to our 109 Bronze DofE pupils who received their certificates last week. This was one of our largest Bronze Award cohorts to date, and an impressive testament to their determination and resilience in completing this challenge.

All these 4th Year pupils undertook the challenge in the 3rd Year, which involved completing three sections: three months of ‘volunteering’, three months of ‘physical’ and three months of ‘skill’ (plus another three months dedicated to one of these areas). In addition, they took part in a two-day expedition, which included an overnight camp. They also contributed to the incredible 4290 hours of community volunteering which has taken place in within our community in 2023/24.

Between them, our bronze pupils volunteered and contributed to their communities in many different ways, including litter picking in their local community, coaching at sporting events, helping at a local care home, and supporting the work of local charities, including the National Trust, YHA, and Park Run.

In addition to taking on many individual challenges as part of their sporting sections, pupils opted to develop their personal skills in areas such as cooking, languages, reading, chess, and criminology.

Well done to everyone for their diligence, effort and determination. We are thrilled that 87 of these pupils have opted to continue to the Silver DofE Award, making it the largest silver cohort at Truro School ever!
