As part of the Burrell Society lecture series, Guest speaker Patrick Foster, cricketer and Mintridge charity worker, came to speak to sixth-formers today. This series is part of the Sixth Form diploma and allows students to broaden their knowledge outside the classroom.
Patrick spoke about his gambling addiction problems and gave the students an insight into his life and pre-rehab before sharing how he overcame adversity to turn his life into something good.
Patrick now works with Mintridge and the Professional cricketers association, giving motivational talks about his life to avoid others going through the problems he endured.
Patrick has also written a book sharing his gambling story.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to Patrick for speaking today, and we look forward to welcoming other guest speakers in the coming months.
