What a fantastic week for sport. With such a busy sporting calendar our pupils have been up and down the country competing for the school, county, and country in a wide range of sports.
A huge well done to our School Equestrian team who competed in the Senior School Showjumping competition. They all jumped fantastic rounds with Poppy and Tommy both securing rosettes finishing in 2nd and 5th place.
Our wonderful swimmers took part in the second round of the National Arena swimming league last weekend. Annie, Daisy H, Daisy L, Lily, Ben, Dan, and Naomi raced fantastically to achieve 3rd place for the team.
Congratulations to our 1st Team Netball players who are off to regionals having secured 2nd place in their U19 county tournament.
Our U15 girls’ cricket team made their mark this week as they won their area group competition, progressing to the finals in March.
The lucky squash team had an amazing masterclass with world-class squash players Mohammed El Shorbagy and Paul Coll took our pupils through a masterclass session.
Outside of school pupils have also been working hard on their sporting achievements. Ottie competed in the finals of the Gymnastic West Country league, helping her team to take the win. Meanwhile, Aria won bronze at the U13 Cornish Cross country championships. Findlay W has been selected for the U21/U18 Scottish Aspiring squad in hockey.
Competing for the U14 England team in Sofia last weekend Sarang finished 37th, a fantastic result for his international debut. Returning back to the UK he then went straight to another competition in London where he won gold. He now tops the Under 13 GBR boys’ sabre rankings. Also competing internationally in Sofia this weekend were Lauren Anderson for the GBR Under 17 team, and Etienne Sibelius competing for the Finland Under 17 team.
What amazing achievements.
