Class of 64 Reunion

On Saturday 8 October Sam Willsher CO03 and Amanda Forde from the Development and Alumni Relations office were delighted to welcome back Old Truronians from the classes of 1964 and 1965 for their 5-yearly reunion. The group were welcomed by Sam in the morning before going on to spectate Truro School 1^st XV v Plymouth College rugby match on the Games Field. Truro School were the champions, of course. For those not spectating, they were invited to join Sam on a nostalgic tour of the School. It then followed an easy buffet lunch in the Sixth Form Café where artefacts and records from the School Archive were strategically placed for the group to peruse and take a trip down memory lane with.

After lunch it was then over to Bert Biscoe CO71 to lead the group down the hill towards the city centre for a fun tour of Truro. The tour lasted over 2 hours and was a comedic and light-hearted way for the former pupils to venture around their old town from their school days.

Finally, the classes of 64 and 65 gather for one last reunion of the day, in the Old Dining Hall, for a formal dinner hosted by the Head, Andy Johnson, Chris Rowe CO76 and Gerald Chegwidden CO57 – both of the Truro School Association. The attendees enjoyed a three-course meal starting with teriyaki duck and cauliflower and truffle cappuccino, followed by either a fillet of beef or roasted winter vegetables and cherry clafoutis for pudding.

A warm thank you to all that attended, either for part of the day or the whole days’ events. However, the most thanks to Richard Stevenson CO64 for ensuring the reunion went ahead once more.
