Cross Country Delights at Prep

Well done to our talented cross-country athletes, who have been taking part in various events across the county.

On Friday 28th February, over 250 children from schools across Cornwall took part in the Cornwall Sports Partnership cross-country qualifier at Richard Lander School.

Congratulations and best of luck to the following children who have made it through to the next round, which is being held at Camborne School on Monday 10th March: Henry, Scott, Lissie, Poppy, Phoebe, Reggie (Year 6), Sienna, Evie, Audrey (Year 5) and Mabel, Daisy, Isabella, Jack, James, Edward, Christopher and Albie (Year 4).

Year 5 Squad: Sienna, Rohan, Arthur, Hugo, Ollie, Evie, Audrey, Hennie, Emily

Year 6 Squad: Henry, Scott, Lissie, Poppy, Phoebe, Rosie, Albie

On Saturday 1st March, our intrepid runners tackled the notoriously challenging course at Polwhele House. They had to contend with a fast start, followed by a steep downhill section through the woodland course, then a sustained, muddy section in the bottom part of the woods, before a sharp uphill climb to the finish.

Congratulations to all of our runners, who performed consistently well in this event. As expected, there were some strong individual performances, with Truro Prep either winning the event or finishing in the top three in all age categories.

A huge thank you to our parents for getting their children to this event, which would have meant prioritising it over another weekend activity. With more than 50 of our pupils racing, it felt like a real team effort and a really joyous occasion.
