A-level DT Students took a trip to Morgan cars in Malvern and Mini in Oxford to compare bespoke handmade production to the high-volume mass production methods used at Mini. The students were given a tour of both and given an opportunity to question the teams on their differing design and production methods.
The students then ventured to Bath, where they checked in to their hotel and enjoyed a Thai meal before exploring the city’s vibrant culture. They finished their trip with a visit to Exeter’s IKEA, where they could look at their furniture designs and take inspiration for their own projects.
The group had a wonderful time, and it was an excellent experience for all, especially as this will now help in their product design exam in the Summer Term. Thanks to Mr Baker for the updates and lovely photos.
