Drama and Dance Shine at Hall for Cornwall

This week, Truro School dancers and actors took to the stage at the Hall for Cornwall, performing alongside secondary schools from across the county in the highly anticipated Performing Arts Showcase. The event, held over two nights, celebrated original performances inspired by o-region’s outreach project ‘From the Horse’s Mouth’ and its new production ‘White Horse’, with performances exploring and uncovering stories connected to our Cornish community.

At Truro School, drama and dance are firmly embedded within our performing arts programme, with both disciplines complementing each other to develop confidence, courage and creativity. With a strong co-curricular programme and a graded syllabus available in dance (IDTA) and drama (LAMDA), pupils are given the opportunity to refine their skills and bring stories to life on stage.

Performing in front of a packed audience at the Cornwall Playhouse was an unforgettable experience for our pupils, and it was wonderful to witness their talent, storytelling, and dedication to the arts. Events like these highlight the importance of drama and dance in fostering self-expression, collaboration, and a lifelong passion for performance.

A huge well done to all involved and thank you to Lisa McNally, Mr Oldfield and Mrs Hood for their support and encouragement.
