Truro School’s Senior Eco-Committee recently attended the Power of 10 Festival on Earth Day (April 22, 2025), hosted at the University of Exeter’s Penryn Campus. The festival brought together young climate leaders from across Cornwall for a day of learning, inspiration, and action.
The Power of 10 movement is empowering youth to take meaningful climate action by connecting them with resources and peer support. At the festival, Truro School pupils participated in workshops on topics like climate communication, biodiversity, and sustainable food systems, and discovered their own ‘climate superpower’ to inspire change in their communities.
The event also launched new eco groups in schools and encouraged over 2,000 pledges for climate action. Energised by the festival, the Eco-Committee is more motivated than ever to continue their sustainability projects on campus, from reducing plastic waste to creating green spaces.
The festival underscored the Power of 10 philosophy – small individual actions can lead to great collective change. Truro School’s Eco-Committee is excited to carry this momentum forward and inspire others to join the movement.
