Congratulations to Emily Trendell CO23, who has been shortlisted for The Arts Society A-Level Art Competition.
Her captivating oil on canvas piece, titled ‘Sleeping’, was submitted by the Art Department and has been selected from 113 entries to join the prestigious shortlist of 2024.
Head of Art, Mr Meads, commended Emily’s exceptional talent and high skill level in oil painting. Emily, who achieved an ‘A’ grade in her A-Level art, was an enthusiastic and creative student at Truro School. She honed her life drawing skills through participation in the Leonardo Club at Prep and the after-school life drawing classes at the Senior School. Additionally, she ran an after-school knitting club.
Mr Meads finished by saying “This recognition is a fitting conclusion to Emily’s time at Truro School, and she is a well-deserved candidate for this competition”.
The public can vote through The Arts Society website. The voting period will conclude on February 29th, providing ample time for art enthusiasts and the general public to participate. The Arts Society will announce the winner in early March. You can view Emily’s work and other shortlisted artists here.
