Fantastic Performances in Girls’ Football

The girls’ U14A football team put on a fantastic performance against Pool Academy to reach the quarter finals of the county cup.

From the very beginning they demonstrated a great attitude and intensity within the game. Even though they went 1-0 (an unlucky goal) at the start, they continued working hard for each other as a team and had the majority of the possession. After some great play the girls were finally rewarded with a goal from Charlotte.

Full time finished with the score at 1-1, this meant the girls now had to go to extra time. Again the girls played fantastically but extra time ended 0-0 meaning it went to penalties.

The girls attitude was once again fantastic with 5 girls stepping forward to take penalties. There was no splitting Truro and Pool as this ended 3-3, now it was time for sudden death penalties! The girls resilience payed off and they finally came away with the victory! 6-5 on penalties.

Well done girls, I hope you are all very proud of yourselves!
