From Cornwall to National Finals

From national finals and football selections to fencing triumphs, long-distance swimming feats, and prestigious rugby appearances, our pupils have once again shown remarkable talent, determination, and dedication in their sports. Whether representing the school, their region, or even the country, they continue to do us proud on every stage. Here’s a look at what’s been an exciting few weeks in Truro School sport.

Three of our pupils attended the Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) National Camps, with Fenella E representing the U15 girls, while Olly S and Billy E took part in the U14 boys’ camp. Their hard work has paid off, as Billy and Olly have now been selected to play for the U14 National Team against Wales next month! Additionally, Zain M has earned a spot in the U14 squad for next season, huge congratulations to all four players.

Just before the Easter break, our U14 football team secured a place in the County Cup final with a determined victory over Helston. Next week is a big one, with three Truro teams competing in County Cup football finals:
Monday – U15s
Tuesday – U14s
Thursday – U18s

Adding to this incredible season, both our U16 boys and girls also reached their respective County Cup football finals last term.

One of the highlights of the year, however, will be our U14s competing in the English Schools Football Association (ESFA) National FINAL at West Bromwich Albion on Thursday, May 22, at 5.30pm. We wish them the best of luck and I’m sure the whole school will be cheering them on! It’s certainly been a phenomenal year for football at Truro School.

In a Fencing triumph, Daisy H dominated the Cadet Elite Epee Ranking competition, securing an impressive victory. A huge achievement, well done, Daisy.

In Swimming, Elsa C took on a mammoth journey, traveling 669 miles to compete in the Scottish National Age Group Swimming Championships in Aberdeen. She delivered a strong and determined performance in the 100m butterfly, earning a respectable placing and valuable experience for her future long-course events. Fantastic effort, Elsa.

Over the Easter break, Charlie C and Toby W proudly represented Exeter Chiefs South at the Warwick Festival. We hope they had an unforgettable experience at this prestigious event.

A huge congratulations to all our athletes for their incredible performances.
