Play is a vital part of learning and our Pre-Prep children were certainly working on lots of important skills today.
In Nursery, the children were finessing fine motor skills during their daily dough disco. They then lined up beautifully and walked to lunch. There were some tricky skills to grasp here, as each child choose a healthy lunch before carrying their tray carefully to their table. We enjoyed some serious ‘concentration’ faces while this was taking place.
Reception made the most of the autumnal sunshine with a carousel of forest school play activities including clay modelling and ‘talking’ through a tube. Their forest school topic has been investigating diurnal and nocturnal animals, and it was lovely to see some little clay and pinecone hedgehogs taking shape.
Some of our Year 1s were rewarded with outdoor play following a spelling and grammar assessment, while Mr Keveren had others mastering a tricky (but very fun) maths game to help them with counting on from any number.
Fresh from their swimming session, the Year 2s were practising their number ordering during their tablet maths time.
It was wonderful to see so much joyful and inspiring learning taking place as the term progresses.
