The school community gathered in the chapel this week to observe the occasion of Lent while also recognising the many other religious celebrations taking place worldwide this month, such as Holi, Eid and Passover. During the six weeks of Lent, Rev Helen addressed the importance of looking ahead and reflecting on what we should release or relinquish as we enter this season. Rev Helen highlighted the presence of 40 ‘holding crosses’ positioned in different areas of the school, encouraging individuals to take these crosses and contemplate what they wish to hold onto as they journey towards Easter.
The chapel service concluded with a spirited rendition of ‘My Lighthouse.’ Ms Overend commended the 2nd Years for their acts of kindness displayed throughout the week, with many pupils committing to performing acts of kindness towards strangers, friends, and themselves during the Lenten period.
