During today’s assembly, the Community Action group took the initiative to raise awareness about mental health. The focus was on highlighting the efforts of two significant local charities: Young Minds and The Wave Project.
Young Minds is a mental health charity dedicated to supporting children and young people, offering a wealth of free advice and assistance to both young people and their parents.
The Wave Project has been actively working towards enhancing the mental well-being of young people through the transformative power of surf therapy. By harnessing the therapeutic benefits of surfing, they make a positive impact on the lives of many young people in our community and further afield.
Following the assembly, Miss Overend issued a thought-provoking challenge to all students. She encouraged them to contemplate one action they could take to brighten someone else’s day, while also emphasising the significance of recognising the small things that contribute to our own positive well-being.
Thank you to Lower Sixth Formers Mathilde I, Evie M and Gwen M for showing exceptional leadership in today’s assembly and for fostering a greater understanding of mental health within our school community.
