More From a Monday at Prep

On Monday afternoons at Truro School Prep, our Year 3 and 4 pupils take part in a programme of extra-curricular activities, with activities this term rotating across chess, kayaking, cycling, dance, bushcraft and cookery. These sessions allow the pupils to learn new skills, enhance or develop new hobbies and interests and develop skills like teamwork and resilience.

This week, our sessions took on an autumnal theme, with our dancers learning spooky choreography, our chefs making pumpkin soup and our bushcraft collective toasting marshmallows on the fire they helped to build.

In the on-site Truro School Prep swimming pool, our pupils have been learning kayaking techniques in preparation for outdoor lessons as they progress through the school. Our chess collective is being introduced to the game, with options to join after-school and lunchtime sessions.  Cyclists of all levels are learning or improving their skills in road safety and cycling proficiency.
