Musical Talent Shines in Joyful Easter Concert

Truro School Chapel was filled with energy, rhythm, and harmony on Thursday evening as pupils and students from across the school came together to perform in the annual Easter Concert.

The wide-ranging programme celebrated the incredible variety of musical ensembles at the school. From the infectious beats of the Samba Band’s opening number to the polished finale from the ever-popular Pitchforks, the evening showcased both emerging talent and experienced performers.

Standout moments included a lively rendition of Stevie Wonder’s Sir Duke by the Saxophone Ensemble, the Junior Choir’s upbeat take on Mamma Mia, and the heartwarming barbershop piece Slow Down.

The Symphony Orchestra brought a sense of scale and sophistication with Leise by K. Handford, while the Junior House Music Competition Solo winner impressed with a moving performance of Rachmaninov’s Prelude in C# minor. The Junior Strings ensemble brought cinematic flair with their take on Pirates of the Caribbean, adding drama to the second half of the concert. The evening concluded with toe-tapping arrangements by the Brass Group and the Pitchforks’ polished renditions of Gershwin and My Fair Lady classics.

It’s always a joy to see how our young musicians rise to the occasion. The concert was a real celebration of the hard work that’s taken place throughout the term. A big thank you went out to all the music staff and support team who helped make the concert such a success.
