New Wellbeing Hub for Parents and Pupils

At Truro School, supporting the mental health, wellbeing and educational needs of our pupils and students is a key focus, and we are committed to fostering an environment where every young person has the support they need to thrive, both academically and personally.

To help achieve this, we have partnered with The Wellbeing Hub, a trusted resource developed by experts in child and adolescent mental health. By collaborating with The Wellbeing Hub, we aim to equip all our staff and parents with the knowledge, understanding, and strategies to support our pupils and students effectively.

Ms Emma Mitchell, Interim Deputy Head (Pastoral), said, “Our recently launched Wellbeing Hub is an expert-led, evidence-based resource available to pupils, teachers and parents to support the mental health, wellbeing and educational needs of young people. In school we will be using this resource as a tool to support the care and guidance of our young people.

“The resources and support available for you and your child are extensive and in the coming weeks and months, we will be sharing top tips for getting the most from this platform. As a parent of teenagers myself, I am always grateful when a friend or colleague recommends a book or blog at just the right time to help navigate the parenting challenge!”

The Wellbeing Hub is designed for both pupils and parents, with tailored content for both groups. You can view a guided video tour of The Wellbeing Hub for Parents here.

To register as a parent, you can access the link through the Everest Parent Portal (under the links section) or follow the link included in the letter emailed to parents on December 18 2024. During registration, you will be prompted to set a password and receive a welcome email with further details.

All staff and pupils, from 1st Year through to Upper Sixth, have also been given access to the platform, which they can access via school computers and at home. Many pupils are having PSHEE lessons this half term to learn how to use the resource and are signposted to the quality advice and thought pieces it offers. Parents are encouraged to guide their children towards resources they may find helpful.

Alicia Drummond, adolescent psychotherapist and founder of The Wellbeing Hub, commented: “Schools do an extraordinary job of educating their pupils in the most challenging circumstances. We are thrilled to partner with Truro School as they take this proactive and holistic approach to support the mental health of their entire school community.”
