The Medical Pathways Programme received a visit from Dr. Callum Waldie MBBS (CO13) Old Truronian currently working at RCH Treliske. Dr. Waldie generously offered his time to meet our Sixth Formers hoping to pursue a career in medicine. This initiative aims to support students in their university applications by providing guidance and insights into the medical field.
With potential students expressing their interest in this pathway, Dr. Waldie, along with other members of the careers and biology departments, conducted mock interviews to help them prepare for the Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) favoured by many medical schools.
Students, Aimee and Oriel, said they were very keen to gain this interview experience and look forward to receiving the feedback to enhance their preparations for their university interviews.
Head of Biology, Ms Havis said “Our students work extremely hard to get to this stage of their application for medicine and I am delighted we have help from Dr Waldie and other members of staff to support their preparations for upcoming interviews.”
The Medical Pathways Programme at Truro School continues to equip aspiring medical students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their future endeavours. Dr. Waldie’s involvement serves as a testament to the dedication and commitment of the school and the Old Truronian network in nurturing the next generation of medical professionals.
