Phonics Uncovered in Nursery

Our wonderful Pre-Prep team welcomed parents and carers for a valuable overview of phonics. Held over two separate afternoons, the session was designed to share with parents how we start our Nursery children on their reading and writing journey.

Led by our Reception teacher and Read, Write Inc lead, Mrs Banks, the session shared the value of reading and sharing books, the importance of using ‘pure sounds’ and ‘sound talk’, and how to boost confidence when helping children to learn to read.

We are extremely proud of our Early Years provision that delivers an exceptional start for girls and boys from age 3.
