November 2022 – Cross-country events
Year 3 and Year 4
On Tuesday, 15 November, we hosted a cross-country event with Truro High School and Polwhele House School. The weather was an interesting mix of promising sunshine and unexpected heavy downpours, but the children themselves absolutely loved it.
Well done to the seventy children who participated in this event. There was a great atmosphere during the afternoon – mainly due to the incredible number of parents who had come to watch – but also the excitable buzz of children supporting, encouraging and congratulating each other.
Congratulations to all of the following Year 3 children for finishing in the top five runners in their event: Sienna, Hennie, Audrey, Ashleigh, Ollie S, Arthur and Samuel.
A huge mention to all of the following Year 4 children for finishing in the top five runners in their event: Henry M, Reggie, Freddie and Tilda.
Year 5 and Year 6
On Wednesday, 16 November, it was the turn of our Year 5 and Year 6. It was a memorable occasion for everyone who participated.
Over eighty runners raced the woodland cross-country course, consisting of a steady uphill climb and two flatter, faster field sections. The weather was heavy rain, but it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. There was a celebratory atmosphere as every child was cheered around the course and over the finish line.
Congratulations to all of the following Year 5 children who finished in the top five in their race: Archie J, Rowan, Jacob, George M, Rosie R, Amelia and Hetty.
A big well done to the following Year 6 children for finishing in the top five in their race: Winnie, Isobel, Amelia, Sunny, Teddy, Archie R and Arthur.
