Around 80 pupils from primary schools in Cornwall gathered at Truro School today to participate in a ‘Recorders Rule’ concert in the Chapel.
‘Recorders Rule’ is an initiative that originated from the Cornwall Music Festival approximately ten years ago and has since become a popular collaboration between Cornwall Music Services Trust, Truro School, and various local primary schools. Recorder players from Years 2 to 6, come together monthly to play, leading to annual large-scale performances. The concert featured the first public performance for some pupils, with the opening piece titled ‘Something Else’ showcasing all 80 musicians in a wonderfully uplifting tune.
Pupils from schools such as Mylor, Perranarworthal, Kea, Devoran, St Agnes, Penair, and Redruth attended the event. We extend our gratitude to the senior school recorder players who also joined in with the event and helped out, as well as to Mrs. Wharmsley, CMST, the music teachers, and parents who contributed to the success of this fun and tuneful event.
