Rocking the Art Department

Local artist Peter Ward came in to talk to our Sixth Form art students about his philosophy on art and how he is inspired not only by the landscape around him but how local geology plays a key part in his work.

Peter uses locally sourced rocks and minerals to create his own paints and pigments, and he has challenged our students to think sustainably and locally when creating their own work.

We will hear much more from Peter over the coming months, and we can’t wait to see how his low-take philosophy inspires our student artists here at school. Thank you Peter, for your time, passion and inspirational talk.
