This week, the Royal Cornwall Museum was a fabulous venue for a day of intellectual development and exploration for our Lower Sixth and our newly appointed 5th Year Diploma Scholars.
Expanding upon the ‘colour profiling’ initiative introduced during a recent off-site excursion, the Lower Sixth students shared their learnings and perspectives with the new scholars. This exchange aimed to promote self-reflection and focus on our school values of creativity and courage.
The students watched Seamus Carey’s ‘One and All’ video, initiating conversations on Cornish identity and collaborating in pairs, they curated exhibits highlighting diverse aspects of Cornish culture.
The day was overseen by Mr Johnson, Ms Selvey, and the Head of Sixth Form, Mr Williamson. This off-site excursion offered a platform for enrichment, fostering group cohesion, and encouraging students to be ‘unselfconsciously scholarly ‘.
Current Lower Sixth scholar Alice described the day as enriching, highlighting the value of the scholarship route in fostering critical thinking, self-awareness, and practical application of knowledge for university and life beyond.
Congratulations to all our new Diploma Scholars: Harriet D, Arlo G, Noah G, Harry E, Jess B, Charlie S, Oriana M, Sam B, Celia G and Thomas O.
