Lower Sixth Geologists visited Pendower Beach on the Roseland to study sedimentary rocks. In this introductory A-Level field trip, they learnt navigation skills, positioning on a map using triangulation, and how to take grid references. As part of their trip, they also studied a fantastic example of a raised beach and practised their sketching skills, which are essential for fieldwork.
The students had a great day putting all that they’ve learned in the classroom into practice.
