Sixth Form Open Evening

The Autumn sunshine broke through to welcome current and prospective pupils to our annual Sixth Form Open Evening.

The evening offered an insight into life at Truro School Sixth, with the chance for families and students to explore our outstanding facilities, listen to insightful talks from our Head and Sixth Form Team and chat with our current sixth formers, department heads and career specialists about all that Truro School has to offer.

Truro School was the strongest A-Level provider in Cornwall in 2023, and with even stronger results (73% A* to B) in 2024, the school provides an excellent academic foundation for those choosing to study with us, being ranked in the top 10% nationally in terms of value-added for A-Level outcomes.

But, as our visitors to the Open Evening discovered, life at Truro School Sixth Form offers unrivalled facilities and a breadth of opportunity that goes beyond the curriculum. Our Sixth Form Diploma provides a platform for our Sixth Formers to hone existing skills and learn new ones while evidencing personal development to target university or career applications. There are also leadership and mentoring schemes and a rich co-curricular menu including the Leiths Diplomas, Ten Tors and endless sporting, music and drama clubs and opportunities to name but a few.

It was fantastic to see our visitors exploring our Sixth Form Centre and Cafe and wonderful to hear our current students talk so enthusiastically about their experience here. Thank you to everyone who attended and to all of our staff and students for their invaluable contribution to the evening.
