Smiles of GCSE Success

There was a wonderful sense of excitement and anticipation this morning as our GSCE cohort arrived at School to receive their much-anticipated GCSE results. We are thrilled to report that it has been an exceptional year for exams at Truro School, with our GCSE cohort securing a fabulous set of results that put them well above the national average. You can read more about this year’s GCSE results here.

We had the pleasure of catching up with some of our pupils during the morning. One of our standout pupils, Sam B, achieved an impressive eleven grade 9s. He will continue his academic journey at Truro School as a Diploma Scholar. Sam’s gratitude towards his teachers for their dedication and hard work is evident. He is excited about his future academic endeavours and celebrating his success with a well-deserved pizza. Sam’s active involvement in outdoor pursuits, such as completing his bronze and silver Duke of Edinburgh awards and participating in Ten Tors, is a testament to his commitment to personal growth beyond his academic achievements.

Another star performer is Parnika I, who secured an impressive ten 9s and one 8 and thanked all her teachers for being so supportive, “I wouldn’t have been able to do this without all the help from Truro School. Honestly, I have loved every single teacher here. Mrs Wormald, Mrs Ellis, and Dr Spring have been particularly amazing.” Parnika will continue in her studies and aspires to be a doctor.

Sophie D, who joined Truro School Prep in Reception, was thrilled to secure nine 9s and two 8s, saying, “I worked really hard for this and am so pleased with my results today.” Sophie explained she is staying at Truro School to study A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths, and EPQ, during which she will research a topic related to her medical ambitions.

Sophie’s mum, Rebecca, said, “Sophie’s teachers have been great in supporting her throughout her journey. She has been at Truro School since joining age three and has had a lovely group of friends throughout. A big thank you to Truro School.  She is looking forward to returning for her A-levels in September.”

Liz, Zack’s mother, expressed relief today as Zack received an outstanding set of results. She shared, “I had hoped that his hard work would be recognised, and today it has been. He has had a wonderful support system, especially from Mrs Wormald, Miss Overend, Dr Spring, and Miss Magnin. Zack is eager to explore finance and law in the future, and he has found great value in the GCSE RS curriculum.”

Many pupils have chosen to further their academic journey at Turo School’s Sixth Form. Celia G said she’s pleased today and is looking forward to studying drama at A-Level, “There are countless opportunities I am excited to explore in Sixth Form, and I  am particularly looking forward to participating in the production of Chicago scheduled for November.”

Head of 5th Year, Mr Copeland, said, “It has been a privilege to work with this 5th Year, who have achieved an amazing set of results. There are lots of happy pupils here today who should be very pleased with all their hard work. I am very proud of them all.”
