As part of our exciting Book Week celebrations, Prep pupils were treated to a spectacular performance by Squashbox Theatre.
This one-man theatrical masterpiece entitled ‘The Sea Show’ had pupils of all ages squealing with delight at its entertaining blend of goofy comedy, puppets and brilliantly crafted characters.
Pupils of all ages were introduced to a cast of quirky Cornish sea creatures and local legends, with the undisputed highlight being the hilarious soaking from ‘The Sea Squirt’!
The performance was packed with folk music and sea shanties, with Craig expertly playing the accordion as pupils joined in, singing, clapping, and laughing along.
Year 5 pupil Connie summed up the experience perfectly, “The Squashbox Theatre was the best thing ever! I wish I could go back and watch it again all day long!”
The show featured sea-related jokes, with Craig, a self-confessed sea lover, introducing the group to his characters of mermaids, Cornish maids, crabs, surfers and seagulls.
Everyone enjoyed the show, the hall filled with laughter, with our youngest pupils enthralled by the stories, and even our older pupils having a good giggle amongst friends – it was the highlight of the day for many!
A huge thank you to the FTS for arranging this Squashbox extravaganza and to Craig for a performance that made an already sunshine-filled day even brighter!
