Dave Conquers 1,300 Miles and 3 Peaks for Prostate Cancer UK
Congratulations to Mr Meads and his team of cyclists and supporters on successfully completing their challenging cycle from John O’Groats to Lands End and taking on the 3 Peaks Challenge simultaneously. This epic adventure was blessed with good weather and good fortune, and they also met some wonderful people along the way.
One such person was Danny, the ice cream man on the Cumbrian coast, who not only provided them with ice creams but also donated to their cause and shared his connection to Prostate Cancer.
Among the highlights of their journey was the breathtaking view from the top of Scarfell Pike, where the mist cleared just in time to reveal the incredible view stretching across the Lake District to the Irish Sea and the Isle of Man.
The most challenging day for the team was the Dartmoor to Perranporth leg, a distance of 80 miles and an ascent of 83,000 feet, which eventually saw them cross the Tamar. On the final day, they were warmly greeted by friends and colleagues who joined them on the last leg of the journey to Lands End.
Together, the team raised nearly £7k for their chosen charities, including Prostate Cancer UK, Mind, and Cancer Research UK. If you would like to contribute to Dave’s event, there is still time to donate through his Just Giving Page.
Congratulations to everyone involved; your dedication and efforts have made a significant impact in supporting these fantastic causes.
