U16 County Championships

We were honoured to host the U16 County Cup football finals for our girls’ and boys’ teams. Congratulations are in order for both teams, it was a fantastic opportunity to watch and celebrate their dedication, teamwork, and growth throughout the tournament.

The U16 girls faced Bude in the final, delivering a commanding performance resulting in an 11-1 victory, after being 6-0 up at halftime. This historic achievement marks the first time a Truro School girls’ team has participated in and won the Football County Cup – an incredible milestone for the team and the school.

The U16 boys displayed exceptional skills against a determined Saltash side in a hard-fought match. Despite a late push from Saltash, captain Josh also found the net in the closing minutes, which settled with the final score 2-1. It was a pleasure to witness such competitive spirit and sportsmanship during this memorable event. Congratulations to all the players and teams involved.

Reflecting on the occasion, Head of Football, Mr Hooper, shared, “Today was a historic day for football at Truro School, with both U16 teams reaching the County Final and the opportunity to host both matches. Whilst the U16 girls lifted the trophy for the first time ever, the boys have also come so far this year. Their progress has been inspiring – with teamwork, great attitudes and trust in each other, the journey has been a pleasure to watch. I am immensely proud of every single player in both squads.”
