Weekly News from Pre-Prep 28.02.25

Our busy pupils at Truro School Pre-Prep have shown great creativity, confidence, and courage in their work and play.

Our nursery pupils have been marching like ants in their music lessons, trying to keep in time with the music and understand rhythm and timing. They have also been enjoying their new outside play area and making friends with Sam the Scarecrow. They have started their new topic on large animals and are beginning to make a huge elephant for their display.

Reception pupils have been using everyday objects to learn how to double numbers. In art, they experimented with primary colours by mixing them to see if they could create a new colour.

In maths, our Year 1 pupils have been learning to double numbers up to 20 and working hard on their times tables. In literacy, they have used their senses and words ending with the ‘ing’ suffix to create a poem about mangrove forests.

In Year 2 maths this week, pupils have investigated the mass of different shapes and objects. They have been exploring imperative verbs and using these ‘bossy’ words in sentences when writing instructions.
